“A Blessing Box is a small, often homemade structure [pantry] where people leave donated goods for others to pick up anonymously. Located in a common area, people are filling them with items that will help those in need-everything from non-perishable food to toiletries.”

Blessing Boxes are an important structure to have in every community because they provide those in need of just a little extra help with food, toiletries, paper products, books, etc. Also, one important aspect of Blessing Boxes is that they allow the receiver to anonymously take items when they are in need. These boxes are a great feature within communities, for they are sustained by those in the community that want to help others; people can give items and people can take items.
Blessing boxes help provide those that are financial illiterate or are in the process of becoming financially literate with goods or supplies they need to sustain themselves for a short amount of time. Sometimes people just need a little hand to help them bridge the gap between the time they run out of the item to their next paycheck.
